Competition draw sheets now available on-line

On-line versions of the Peel Bowl, Dunbar Salver, Muir Trophy and Oliver Quaich draw sheets are now available.

These can be found here, and via the main menu under Members/Competitions.

Mixed Open

There are still tee times available for the Mixed Open on the 27th May. Please get your entries in quickly.

The draws for the Gents’ Peel Bowl and the Dunbar Salver and the Ladies’ Robertson Cup, Maslowski Cup and MacColl Picture are posted in the clubhouse.

Also, the draws for the Oliver Quaich and Muir Trophy are in the club house.

Your ties must be played by the closing dates. If you miss a closing date all players are eliminated. Don’t leave it to the “other” player to arrange a tie.

WiFi access

We are happy to announce that wireless broadband access (WiFi) is now freely available in the clubhouse.

This can be used by all mobile phones that have access to the web plus laptops, iPads and other tablet computers.   Access can be obtained via either a BT Openzone hotspot, or directly through our wireless router. Both connections will be visible and available to any mobile device used within the clubhouse.

  We would encourage members who can use BT Openzone to do so, as the club has a maximum usage quota and using BT Openzone does not affect this.

Volunteers from the EGGS have rubbed down and repainted the buggy shed and fitted a new door.

GGC to host National Nines

The Club has been awarded the venue for the 2012 Scottish qualifiers for the UK National Nines Competition. All nine-hole courses in the UK are invited to enter teams of three to play a nationwide competition. In fact a club can enter as many teams as they want. There are regional knockout stages leading to 18 teams who are invited to take part in a grand final in Jersey…usually in late September each year. In fact a Gifford team went to the finals last year and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Steven Doyle was instrumental in securing Gifford the Scottish qualifier to be held on Friday 3rd August.

A sheet will be put up on the notice board in due course inviting golfers to enter either as teams of three or singly in which case teams of three will be formed from these single entrants.

Welcome to our new web site.

Be sure to look at the page Members > Club Diary. This is a new feature which will hold all the dates normally found in the year book. Be sure to try out the filter option where you can specify a Category such as Mens or Ladies and the Agenda style if you want to print out a condensed version.
