Subscribing to News Items
If you’re a regular Twitter user then Twitter may be a more convenient mechanism for you to receive the Latest News. Whereas RSS will feed you the news items from our website, Twitter can also feed you the news items, plus comments from registered Twitter users.
You need to register with Twitter to get your own Twitter account and, if you want to use your smart ‘phone or iPad, you will need to download the Twitter application from your appropriate app-store.
RSS
RSS is similar to Twitter except you nominate the websites you wish to follow. If you follow Gifford Golf Club then its news items will appear alongside the news items from the other websites you nominated. You do not have to register to use RSS but you do need to have an RSS enabled application on your computer, tablet or smartphone. Most email programs support RSS but usually, it is better to use one of the many free RSS reader applications.
If you have more than one computer, tablet or smartphone then it’s best to enroll with an RSS aggregating service such as Feedly and then the aggregating service will keep track of which news items you have already read on any device.
If you need the full address of our RSS feed it is “www.giffordgolfclub.co.uk/?feed=rss2”.
