A Friendly Reminder

Members, guests, visitors and employees are expected to behave with courtesy and respect for one another both on course and while in the clubhouse.

And so, a friendly reminder of a few things that we do expect from visitors:

Dress Code

  • Smart, casual golf attire to be worn
  • Shirts should be tucked into trousers or tailored shorts
  • No football or rugby colours
  • Blue denim jeans are not permitted on the course
  • Please remove your cap/hat when you enter the clubhouse

On Course

  • Please adhere to the advice provided by the starter particularly concerning:
    • Tee Box Priority
    • Merging play – 1st/10th Holes
  • Play safely, being mindful of the potential for balls to stray, particularly when playing adjacent fairways, and call out “Fore!” when a shot may endanger others
  • Avoid slow play maintaining a brisk pace of play keeping up with the group in front of you and allowing other golfers to play through
  • Show courtesy by waiting until players in the group ahead are out of range before playing a shot, particularly in/around greens and tee boxes

Conduct

  • The use of foul, abusive or offensive language has no place at Gifford Golf Club (on the course or in/around the Clubhouse) – any person using such language will be asked to stop or leave
  • Mobile phones should be in silent mode and only used in an emergency – noise carries a long way on a quiet, rural golf course
  • Dogs are not allowed to accompany you on the course

We’re glad you have chosen to play our course and hope that you have an enjoyable round.
